.
Stephen II was the son of Alexander the Good and reigns in Moldova in the years 1434 - 1435, 1435-1443 (associated with Iliaş), 1443-1447. With the coming to the throne of Moldavia (January 1432) of Elijah, the natural son of Alexander the Good, Moldova enters a period of rival rivalry between various boyar parties, permanent battles between the pretenders, supported by various outside groups country.
The lack of a strict rule of inheritance of the throne, the weakness of the state administration institutions pushed Moldova into a political debacle, the participants of which were enveloped by the madness of power. From now on, in 1434, Stephen in the battle of Loloni defeated Elijah, who flew to Poland. Stephen II is the son of Alexander the Good with an illegitimate wife, Stana. He chased away his brother Ilias I from the throne, with the help of Muntenia voivode Alexandru Aldea. Repentance is also recognized by the Poles. Supported by the Polish magnates, Iliaş returns to Moldova. But in the struggle from Darmanesti again he is defeated by Stephen.
