What You Should Value.
After 18 hours of the day, I am finally able to muster enough strength to sit up and type. Just yesterday I was so full of life and was having awesome conversations all day, finishing up my school project, and just being excited for the future. This morning I woke up like every normal day but it wasn't to be a normal day; if only I knew.
Appreciating Health
I began work on my project (needed to finish it up and submit today) and at a point, I couldn't go ahead. Looking back, all these days that I've been full of life up until yesterday, I couldn't have imagined how awful it would be to be without such good health. When things work well, you hardly notice and this might make you take things for granted; it isn't peculiar to just you. It happens to the best of us. Now I could easily say that I will no longer take good health for granted from now on but I'll only be fooling myself. It's almost like the euphoria of the new year and all its accompanying resolutions. Penning this on here however could help serve as a reminder; hopefully!
Nurturing Relationships
This is also something we are guilty of taking for granted most time, and we rarely notice till we need to. Many times, all you need in dark times is a talk with, or a hug from someone dear to your heart. There's no overstating the power of having conversations at points like that. Even distance has nothing on the power of strong relationships because it's more about the calm and ease you feel talking to the person than the physical presence of the person. Just the word "sorry" from a loved one several miles away can potentially wipe off all feelings of pain, even though it's just for that moment. There's always a remarkable difference after conversations like this and this could be one reason why you should nurture relationships.
Moving On
Writing this has not been an easy feat. I should have waited till I was fully fit but I'll instead rather act out what I want than stay on my bed wishing they happen. So I'll rather act fine and healthy than hope to get better frankly because I've got shit to do! It's not like my imaginations have been asleep all day and having ideas without being able to put them down somewhere is a worse feeling than what this sickness is doing to me. So I'd rather just get up and act normal until my body eventually believes I'm normal and fine!
Value your health and relationships!
I hope to be back with something deeper soon. Bear with the Fi.
Coincidental, I was having this same conversation with a steemian just last night, how to value what we have and not dwell on past misfortunes and negatives. I'm not a licenced therapist or anything even close to that, but I know the more you dwell on the negatives, the more it affects (in a negative fashion) your life. Keep hope alive. Keep steeming.
Yes sir! Dwelling on whatever it is that isn’t going on well for us is never a good move.
I couldn't agree more with you!
Wow, I hope you feel better soon! We often take health for granted. It's a good reminder. Thank you.
Thank you! I’m already working towards it. 😊
Thnak yoy for sharing! Live healthy, love your partner and joy living :)
even if it is just a slight headache i guess it needs to be attended to. little can become big.
i have been having issues keeping up with relationships. i fell i am shutting some people out not because they are bad but i guess i think they dont need me. i dont know if this is wrong. most times i feel there is something i can do about it but i still wake up being the same
Hello @fisteganos
Taking good health for granted is very peculiar to people who have been enjoying good health for long, who has never tested the bitter part of illness. I used to be like that until the event of my accident.
Health... I mean good health is something That has to be valued. Drug addicts don't realize this on time and unfortunately they die from their ignorance
