Blog about Nature.. and myself.
Hello Steemians!
It has been a while since my last post, I was busy with exams and stuffs. It was so annoying and depressing that I had to find some time for myself, moments to inspire and motivate myself. Even after the exams, I was so depressed that I had to find a way to lift myself up.
Some people go fishing, once in a while, to clear their mind, to be at peace with themselves.. Some go at parties, and drink, to forget everything for a moment, and embrace the present. But for me, things were always different. My thing was nature. I always had a soft corner for the beauty of mother nature.
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. - Jacques Yves Cousteau
We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls. - Mother Teresa
I always found pleasure in woods and forests, I found peace in the lonely shore at midnight, where trouble did not exist, far from the ruckus of the cities, where the only music to the ears was the crashing of the waves .. I love not Human the less, but Nature more ♥
I came across some photos, taken by some of my friends and myself, which I would like to share with you. These are not just mere photographs. They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
This is at sunrise, in a place called Mahebourg Waterfront.
Another picture from the same location
This was taken at La Nicoliere Reservoire in Mauritius.
This is a picture of mountain Trois Mamelles, hidden partly behind this great flamboyant tree.
This was taken in Moka, somewhere around Telfair. I was out with some friends, and we were going to Belle Mare beach, and on the way we just had to take this picture, because it was so beautiful.
And finally this one was taken in Albion, at sunset ♥
Everytime I need to escape from reality, I either went stargazing, or just went on a walk by the sea at night, or simply wandered aimlessly in nature, far from people. This is my kind of therapy. Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.
Here is a poem by Elizabeth Drew Stoddard.
I feel the breath of the summer night,
Aromatic fire:
The trees, the vines, the flowers are astir
With tender desire.
The white moths flutter about the lamp,
Enamoured with light;
And a thousand creates softly sing
A song to the night!
But I am alone, and how can I sing
Praises to thee?
Come, Night! unveil the beautiful soul
That waiteth for me.
