Not an everyday occurrence

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

Something amazing happened today! My 10 year old and 9 year old decided to play a board game together and actually found that they like each other.
Not one fight or raised voice was witnessed!

Very rare photo of genuine laughter between the two of themimage
Seems that the removal of mobile phones has caused a ceasefire in the ever continuing battle of the siblings!

"Battle of the siblings"? You mean they are envious of each other and wants to out do each other?

I wouldn’t say envious, it’s more a case of they just don’t tend to agree on anything.

What if they are envious and want to outdo each other? Would you discourage them or encourage them?

It would depend on the situation. I don’t think there is anything wrong with healthy competition but I also want them to understand they both excel in different areas and are individuals with different views, and both should be respected.

That is great, @emmaleigh. Here is a link that explains the 5 natural emotions which I enjoyed reading. You may enjoy reading it too. https://onenessministry.info/2015/12/29/five-natural-emotions/

Thank you! That was quite insightful. I found reading about the other emotions helpful too.

Not only you. Many others would have found it insightful also. Neale's first book "Conversation with God, Book 1" was on New York Times Best Sellers List for 137 weeks. That is more than 2.6 years!
