@darthnava Update: My Appointment for Scheduled Surgery

in #blog7 years ago

Today, I went to my spine doctor for appointment for the scheduled surgery next week. He was looking at my MRI scan films

The doctor explained where the spinal abscess that had accumulated in my thoracic spine and which part had to be operated on and attach the titanium.

Guess what, I am to be operated on using Image-guided surgery. I'll have to spend nearly a week in the hospital for the post-operative recovery. That's my father with me.

In this pic I discussed about my concerns about the operation.

To those who helped resteemed and upvoted my "miracle votes post" (I promise to reply to commenters), you know who you are and you are many and awesome in my eyes. May God Bless you all.

My ex wife had to have spinal surgery. (Multiple vertebrae fused)

One thing to expect ... and I will not sugar coat it. The pain after the surgery will be horrendous. For her, it took 4 days until the "pain team" found the right prescription to get the pain under control. Her pain was worse after the surgery than it was before for about 1 year. But then, the benefit of the surgery surpassed the pain. By 18 months, she was delighted that she had performed the surgery. Just remember, the first days/weeks/months can be a little rough, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck and God bless.

I wish you the best @darthnava! May the force be with you!

That is awesome. We expect to hear you're having a great recovery. Maybe we can create a fund so you don't have to eat hospital food for a week. Stay strong. I hate needles and hospitals so I'm praying for you.

Always yours,

Only positive thoughts for you brother.

Bless you and your family @darthnava. Here is hoping for a safe operation and a speedy recovery!

So happy to see you raised the money! Good luck, I hope the worst fear is over!

Just pray that the surgery is a great success and my recovery is super-swift!

I will!

It sounds like you have the top technology working in your favor. My father died to an inoperable brain tumor, and if we had Image-Guided surgery then, it may have worked out differently. It's about the least invasive form of surgery available, so I hope your recovery will be minimal.

I am sorry to hear that! Wished the technology was available earlier so more lives could have been saved.

its a miracle. i got goosebumps ! you are very bless. hoping for your fast recovery kababayan.
