YouTube - a very slowly dying video plattform

in #blog7 years ago

If you live in Germany you probably came across the recent TV commercials by facebook which are showingthe desperation of its users; the spam. The spam of friend requests, pictures, commercials etc. - facebook solution to this? Change the settings and make the spam disappear. YouTube isn't that different either.

Spam

Lets start with the first and most annoying topic. The spam is real. With that I don't even need to mention YouTube channels like failarmy whos source of income is to add up funny videos and release them as one video. Millions of dollars are made based on a skill level that requires only a one day training to reach. But it isn't just that. Once you jump on that train where money means everything to you, you don't stop. Big YouTubers create second channels and post everything. EVERYTHING! Not to mention the clickbait on such plattforms.

Censorship

I'm not a fan of Donald Trump nor am I conservative. I'm a social democrat but before that I'm someone who thinks that a plattform should give everyone a voice, even with those we disagree. Censorship should never be a form to show someones mistake. Its not just conservatives like Paul Joseph Watson. Also a topic we don't value; history. YouTube algorithm is more and more deleting videos by ISIS which are showing the rise and fall of its terrorist organisations in certain areas of the years.

Creativity

A lot of videos are based on the commentary of games, clothes, news, food. Doesn't differ that much from the color palette the mainstream media can offer. The lack to create new things is a factor that will slowly but surely turn into a threshold, only those who invest time, who find the right balance between time investment and money income will not fail which doesn't mean that they will be as successful as pewdiepie-like people.

Innovation

It's a video plattform, what change can be expect he? True. But certain tweaks and changes should be done. With that I don't mean changing the YouTube design which by the way is awful. YouTube 360 was a good starting point but it lasted with that. One of the things YouTube really missed was the livestream feature. Yes we have events here and there but the YouTube community itself isn't using it that much. Right here twitter was more successful with the invention of periscope or steem, a crypto currency that is based on a social media plattform.

A lot of factors which will decide about the future of YouTube, the most important in my opinion is the community and with the majority of it moving in a clickbait-spam mixed direction the future of YouTube doesn't look that bright.

Yes, I agree with you and the spam is just getting ahead on youtube now which I don't like. That's why I prefer to watch TV now instead of youtube. One of my friends suggests me try youtube tv. I had some doubts which I cleared through the https://youtube-tv.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html link by talking to customer service. I loved the way, they helped me to choose this one of the best platforms to watch live TV.
