A keen cyclist..
Hi Steemians!
It’s me again! I thought I should tell you more about me and why did I become a keen cyclist. I promise next post will be a yummy recipe for you all to cook :)
I started cycling not long before I became pregnant, I have to say my husband was the one that spotted a ladies only cycling group and encourage me to try it. I joined them but couldn’t ride with them long as bump started getting in the way.
After a traumatic birth and an emergency c- section, I started having back pain I couldn’t sleep on my tummy nor my back as the pain was excruciating, anyway after 3 months post partum I decided to start cycling again.
I felt amazing! Back on my bike and felt like myself again! It was very overwhelming to become a first time mum and indeed a needed a ME time.
Since then I became hooked at the feeling of accomplishment, happiness & freedom. I have to say it did help me with my back problems it isn’t as bad as it was and I’m still improving. I think we all parents need that “ME” time for ourselves.
From that time to now, I haven’t stopped cycling I LOVE IT! I had the opportunity to meet lovely people, ride in different cycling events & places. I am attaching some photos of some of them.
I tried and cycled on a velodrome! Amazing experience but my only advice to you is do not stop pedalling!
On this photo I got the chance to ride on a closed roads event “ Tour of Cambridgeshire” amazing athmosphere and excellent organisation and I’ve got to ride with my husband. ( we don’t get to cycle together as one of us has to babysit)
)
The photos from above are very important to me, We had to train for this one it was months of hard training. This event is called prudential ride London, it’s 100 miles around london and Surrey Hills. I’m from Suffolk it’s all flat around here!haha I got to do this ride with my amazing friend Sarah, she kept me goingand pushing me and at the end .. We did it! We didn’t stop on the hills! I pedalled like never before and got to achieve Leith Hill/Box Hill which are number 14&17 top 100 climbs in the UK.
Oh yes! Best part of cycling is the SOCKS! lol I’m still pedalling but for now only indoors weather here has been awful and I do my indoor trainer on Zwift which is a cycling app, not sure you guys have heard of it but it’s awesome! You meet people from around the world to ride or race and it’s such amazing and encouraging vibe.
Thank you for reading my post and look forward posting more soon :)
Karla.
