I saw an article about something similar to this a while ago. So apparently animal diseases like rabies etc don't exist there, so they are really careful about not letting animals in because they don't want them to spread. I think it was something similar to that. I remember reading about it because a family brought a dog and the dog was confiscated and put to sleep I think.
Ow really :( that's rude... I know that if the don't trust a animal being 'clean' of possible diseases the taken them in quarantine and after a while (if everthing is good) they still can get into the country..
Now that I think of it, I am pretty sure it was Iceland or Greenland or one of those countries. I am pretty positive it was an island nation that is not connected to anything, but still...
