RE: Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 05/31/18> So many ways to spell things… steem or steam?
Well. Sounds adequately gross enough to be a real seller. I don't game and don't care. Game development is international in scope to say the least, what does it matter where it's developed? Like it makes it more acceptable if it's made in Korea or Tampa? Please.
The steam thing for gamers has been around a while, I have been just vaguely aware. I think it's changed domains a time or two because there always seems to be an issue with copyright and theft.
Let me be really clear: I don't like our current president. Tone or style. But he is our President and Mrs. Clinton isn't. Thankfully. And yes, I voted so am fully vested with the right to bitch :)
You bring up a good point about voting, far to many people don't vote. We just had a primary season for the 2018 elections here in Texas, right at 8% of the registered voters even cast a ballot in those primaries. I voted in the primary, and in the primary run off for the congressional seat in my district that the congressman is retiring from. So like you I also have the right to bitch.
The other important thing to keep in mind is that all people who could be voting aren't even registered so realistically the percentage of people who are deciding on how this state is run is more closer to 5%, some where between 90 to 95% don't care to even care.
I'm just doing a short series on democracy for Adsactly. One of the 4 primary rating points for a historical democracy was the % of the population that was allowed to vote. England's first Parliament was elected by 3% of the population. Not good.
When you actually crunch the numbers, primary voters are about 5% of the general eligible population. Not good.
I've voted every time but two since I was 21. Both were single issue local special elections that I simply spaced out. I was drinking in those days and the space was crowded :)
I think we may have been fighting for the same space.
