Day 4 of my quit smoking journey.

Today I don't feel that bad, it's now 4 days in and I am feeling alright surprisingly.

I didn't sleep much again last night as I really wanted to go for a smoke but I stood by my guns and laid in bed, I heard of a technique you can use to take your mind of the way you feel so I used that.

It's called the 5 4 3 2 1 technique

When you feel your mind racing you count backwards from 5 and it really works, it is used for people who suffer with anxiety to give them mindfulness.

Back in 2014 after having a breakdown I tried all sorts to stop my mind going into over drive, my mum bless her came to me with this 54321 technique after reading about it at work.(she is a nurse) and I started using it.

Now when I am feeling like my heads racing I just count backwards. its something to do with your brain having to think about the numbers that stops you from thinking about anything else.
Next time you find your self in one of them racing head moods try it.

I have found that I tend to miss the first morning smoke and the ones after dinner the most. my wife is still smoking and she really smells. its a horrible old ash tray smell.

Her idea is to quit tomorrow so she can get help from the doctor, which I thinks a good idea. the thing is she only smokes like 5 fags a day when I was smoking 20+ so it shouldn't be that hard to stop don't you think?

Anyway I'm feeling good just tired, I feel like I have got my breath now.
What I mean by this is I can walk up the stairs and not be out of breath, or just a walk to the car or the shop seems to be so much easier now.

so my health must be improving, plus there is still some money in my pocket too.

I said to the wife that the money that I have left over I'm going to put away for a rainy day (steemit investing) haha
she thinks I mean in a bank.
Yep the bank of steemit hehe.
