Where Are the Women in Crypto? And What Can We Do About It?
Let’s be real…
Crypto is full of dudes.
Charts. Trading. NFTs. Memes. Tech talk.
But where are the women?
Where are the mothers, daughters, sisters, and creators?
Web3 is supposed to be for everyone — but it won’t be until we fix this.
👀 The Problem Is Visibility
Women are in crypto.
But they’re:
Ignored in discussions
Left out of tech roles
Not invited to speak
Underpaid in the industry
Told “this isn’t for you” every day
We need to change that — not just with words, but with action.
🌍 Why Women in Crypto Matters (Especially in the Global South)
In the Caribbean, Africa, and Latin America:
Women often handle the money
Women raise families under pressure
Women run small businesses with no access to banks
Crypto can give women power — to save, earn, build, and teach.
But only if we invite them.
🧠 What We Can Do
✅ Teach women how to use wallets
✅ Show them how to earn with blogging (like Steemit!)
✅ Support female-led crypto projects
✅ Share women’s crypto content
✅ Start crypto education groups for women only
✅ Remind our brothers: Web3 needs everyone
🧩 Women to Watch in Web3
Give them shoutouts. Learn from them.
Examples:
@RoyaMahboob (Afghanistan)
Women in Blockchain Talks (UK-based group)
Let’s uplift women who are already leading — and make space for more.
✊ Final Words
Web3 is supposed to be about freedom.
But freedom without women is incomplete.
We don’t just need coders. We need:
Artists
Writers
Community leaders
Single moms
Entrepreneurs
Educators
