Could I get some help with colors???

Hello steem.

I recently purchased a house and was wondering if I could get some help decorating.
I easily was able to color my living room but the kitchen seems to be particularly difficult.

Although, I am not fond of the cabinets and even the counter tops themselves, I don't have enough money to change them right now. What colors would you choose for the kitchen? It must not clash too much with the den that is closely conjoined with the kitchen. I was thinking the same solid grey in the den and maybe light mauve as an accent.
