Is Failure Really Failure?

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Many of us have heard sayings such as, “never give up”, “learn from your mistakes” and many more. Yes, these are the words that you hear when you could not get that promotion, or could not make it up to the basketball team or whenever you wanted to reach a level and failed at reaching it.

These words are true, look at all those famous people. They failed initially. Learned from their mistakes, refused to give up and ultimately achieved success. What everybody misses out here is the force that kept them going. Even when they were going through the darkest tunnels, they had this light, a hope that this will end soon and they are going to get out of it. They are going to achieve their dreams.

But when I think closely (you may not like it), I realize that world only knows one side of the story. We only know the journey of a successful person. What about a hard-working person, who works hard, never give up, no matter how hard the circumstances are, but barely makes the living. Let’s assume that this person is dumb and therefore is not able to grow. But again, I personally know people who are wise, knowledgeable, smart and yet so called “unsuccessful.”

Somewhere along the line, we must acknowledge the fact that the society and the system that we live in is not perfect. There are flaws. Sometimes we get things we do not deserve, good or bad. As humans, we can only try to give our best, but there are things that are out of our control. You can call it ‘luck’ or ‘karma’ but this unknown factor can sometimes highly influence lives.

PS:- Don’t want to upset anybody, just want a healthy discussion about the topic.

Life sux but without the bad times their would be no good ones.
Money and stuff doesnt matter, when your on your death bed the memories of time spent with friends and family and love made and lost and all the life experiences that cost nothing but could not be bought with all the money in the world will have more value then any amount of money or gold or schmeckels you could ever earn.

Wonder where real happiness resides!!

Friends/family, good food/drinks, good conversation, enjoying the moment and the connection we get to experience with each other in this short but amazing life.
I guess its all perspective, some people dont stop and look around or think about how amazing it is to get to experience this life even if it is nothing but pain and suffering. If its pain and suffering over nothing ill take the pain and suffering.
Besides life would suck if everything worked out perfect all the time, its that change in the plot that keeps it interesting.
:D

You are right. Without pain and sufferings, one will never be able to fully appreciate the good.

the sweet wouldnt be so sweet without the sour.
:D

Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

That is correct, but as I wrote in my post, there are situations that are out of control and no matter how many times one gets up, it might be impossible to get up.
