Starting with their formation, Mexico was already losing the game before it started. Desde el parado la selección mexicana perdió este partido, alineando a un jugador emblemático como Rafael Marquez, que a a pesar de su experiencia y liderazgo, sus 40 años de edad lo limitan bastante en la posición de mas desgaste de una alineación, contención, por lo que México jugo en desventaja todo el partido empezando por la recuperación del balón y la transición hacia sus delanteros, era la crónica de una muerte anunciada.

Juzgando por lo que vimos de Brasil, pusieron mucha atención al Mexico vs Suecia y aprendieron que si le entregas el balón a México y lo obligas a jugar por el centro del campo, se volverá inoperante e inofensivo en ataque, Brasil jugo a medio gas e hizo un juego inteligente jugando al contragolpe contra una selección mexicana desesperada por la falta de variantes de sus jugadores de ataque.

La diferencia de este partido fue Neymar que con su talento logro hacer esa jugada diferente que abrió el marcador, un marcador que de no haber sido por Guillermo Ochoa, portero de la selección de México, estaríamos hablando de una goleada tan histórica como el 7 - 1, Neymar marco el primer gol para Brasil y ya a minutos de acabar el partido, ingreso al campo Roberto Firminho y anoto en una jugada bastante similar a la del primer gol, el segundo y definitivo gol en el marcador.

No se sabrá si fue la pobre media cancha de México, pero observando el medio campo de Brasil y como intercalan posiciones y hacen coberturas, nos pone a pensar que probablemente Brasil este en la final de esta copa del mundo, ahora le falta enfrentarse a un renacido Bélgica que seguramente dejara de jugar tan confiado y encontrara su mejor versión contra los brasileños, definitivamente uno de los juegos mas atractivos de cuartos de final.

Beginnend mit dieser Aufstellung verlor Mexiko das Spiel bevor es überhaupt begonnen hatte. Rafael Marquez hat zwar viel Erfahrung und Führungsqualitäten im Alter von 40 Jahren, was ihn vor allem wegen seiner anspruchsvollen Position als defensiver Mittelfeldspieler stark einschränkte. Er musste den Ball zurückerobern und viel laufen, was Mexiko einen erheblichen Nachteil bescherte. Es war quasi Selbstmord mit Ansage.

Gemessen an dem, was wir von Brasilien gesehen haben, haben sie sich das Spiel von Mexiko gegen Schweden gut angeschaut und gemerkt, dass wenn man Mexiko den Ballbesitz gibt und man sie durch das Zentrum und nicht über die Seitenlinien spielen lässt, sie ineffektiv und völlig harmlos werden. Brasilien spielte im Spargang und wartete geduldig auf Kontermöglichkeiten gegen ein verzweifeltes mexikanisches Team, das beim Angriff keine Alternativen fand.

Der Unterschied hier war Neymar, der es schaffte, einen hohen Ball zu verwandeln und damit seine Mannschaft in Führung zu bringen, ein Punktestand, der ohne Guillermo Ochoa und seine Fähigkeit, die meisten Schüsse der Brasilianer abzuwehren, noch viel schlimmer hätte aussehen können. Neymar erzielte das erste Tor und wenige Minuten vor dem Spielende kam Roberto Firminho eingewechselt und erzielte mit einer ähnlichen Aktion das 2:0.

Es ist nicht sicher, ob es wegen des schlechten mexikanischen Spielstils im Mittelfeld war, aber die brasilianische Mannschaft schaffte es, ihre Positionen im Mittelfeld klug einzuteilen und ein tolles Stellungsspiel zu erreichen. Selbst mit einem Fußballstil, der weit von dem Joga Bonitowe entfernt ist, den wir in früheren Weltcups aus Brasilien gesehen haben, könnten wir hier einen der beiden Titelanwärter vor uns haben. Belgien ist auch schon auf dem Weg und wer auch immer der Gegner Brasiliens sein wird, wird für ein spannendes Viertelfinale sorgen.

An intense match up and down until Japans first goal at minute 50 resulting in an enexpected situation for the Belgian team who showed up to this match as the definitive candidate to win, but they also came to the field over-confident and and chill. Just when the Europeans thought they had it rough, Japan scored again very quickly in a play that made everyone think the Asians had already one foot in the next round.

But the big difference between Mexico and Belgium, when both were losing 2 - 0, was the mindset of the players. Belgium never gave up nor surrendered the ball and kept attacking and searching for scoring options. Japan also didn´t backed down and they kept striving for the third goal that would virtually lock them into the next round. Belgium striked and Fellaini scored with the head, giving a hint of illusion to the Belgian fans, and yet Japan didn´t got scared and kept defending correctly and attacking with passion. And then the second goal from Belgium...

This was a strong psychological punch for Japan, and a huge confidence boost for Belgium. This situation is very hard to overcome for the team that was winning 2 - 0 and now is tied and not many teams find the courage and cold mind to win after this... Japan started to go down and lose drive and it was just a matter of time for Belgium to score again, even if the game went to overtime, Japan didn´t have the energy or strength to mantain their game leve. It was at minute 90+3 that Hazard passed the ball to Lukaku who made a great move inside the box and scored Belgium´s third goal, a goal that secured Belgium to go into the next round and sent Japan back home.

Belgium will face Brazil with a renewed spirit in a match that promises a lot of goals - if we look at the statistics, both teams are in the top of the list of top scorer teams... or perhaps, both teams knowing the offensive power of the other, will close their line and we´ll see a very defensive game. Either way, we are betting that we´ll see a scoring party because both teams have great offenses but also have a lot of weaknesses in defense.

Partido intenso hasta el minuto 50 que Japón anoto su primer gol del partido en una inesperada situación para el equipo belga que salia como favorita al terreno de juego, y cuando los europeos pensaban que el escenario no podría ser peor, rápidamente Japón anoto el segundo gol del partido en una gran jugada de los nipones que culmino en lo que todos pensábamos era la clasificación para los asiáticos.

Sin embargo la diferencia entre México que perdía dos por cero y Bélgica que perdía por el mismo marcador también, fue la mentalidad de sus jugadores, que nunca bajaron las manos y se fueron al frente en busca del primer gol que los acercaría a una posible remontada, Fellaini anoto de cabeza para ilusionar a la afición belga, pero Japón no se entrego y también generaba ocasiones de peligro, sin embargo la segunda anotación de Bélgica y que significaba el empate para los europeos cayo al minuto por parte de.

Minute, was zu einer unerwarteten Situation für die belgische Mannschaft führte, die als Favorit in die Partie ging, aber dadurch die Partie wohl erst auf die leichte Schulter genommen hatten. Gerade als die Europäer dachten, es könnte vielleicht schwerer werden als gedacht, traf Japan schon wieder in einem Spiel, in dem alle glaubten, dass die Asiaten bereits einen Fuß in der nächsten Runde hatten.

Aber der große Unterschied zwischen Mexiko und Belgien, ist die Einstellung der Spieler bei einem 2: 0 Rückstand. Belgien gab nie auf, gab den Ball nicht ab und griff weiter an und suchte nach Tormöglichkeiten. Auch Japan gab nicht auf und wollte ein drittes Tor, das sie so gut wie sicher in die nächste Runde bringen würde. Belgien schlug zu und Fellaini traf mit dem Kopf, was den belgischen Fans einen Hauch von Hoffnung verlieh, und dennoch hatte Japan keine Angst und verteidigte korrekt und attackierte mit Leidenschaft. Und dann das zweite Tor von Belgien ...

Das war ein starker psychologischer Schlag für Japan und ein enormer Selbstvertrauensschub für Belgien. Diese Situation ist für das Team, das 2: 0 vorne liegt, sehr schwer zu überstehen. Nicht viele Teams finden den Mut und haben den kühlen Kopf, um danach noch zu gewinnen ... Japan begann langsam unterzugehen und es war nur eine Frage der Zeit bis Belgien wieder punkten würde.
