FREELANCING ON THE BLOCKCHAIN
WE THE FREELANCING MINIONS
Those of us reading or writing on a user-rewarding platform like Steemit have, more than likely, already heard of Freelancing. Freelancing over the internet has been made quite popular by websites like freelancer.com. These websites allow employer's to post jobs on their platform and freelance workers registered their can bid for the jobs. To take a slightly eccentric but endearing example, The employer's are like Gru from the animated movie "Despicable Me"and the freelancers are like his harmless-looking but highly efficient Army of Minions doing his bidding.

The system works but it of course has some major issues and a promising blockchain startup BLOCKLANCER has taken up the ambitious job of solving them.
The major issues and the approach to solve them as outlined in their whitepaper is as follows:
1. TRUST
Quite often, the worker has to trust the employer completely for providing a fair review as well as for clearing the payments. This may not be such a problem for established workers who have been doing this for a long time but for any new entrant, it can get discouraging to face smug, high-handed clients who will simply not respond after the work is done.
This can make the minions very sad.!!
2.DISPUTE SETTLEMENT
In case of a dispute, there is no way to settle the dispute. You have the option of contacting the support of the respective website, but theses are not easy things to settle. This can lead to some pretty tense moments between Gru and the Minions.
Blocklancer solves this problem by introducing the concept of decentralized tribunals. Democratic voting is the answer. It incentivizes the correct decisions over time (majority decisions) and penalizes wrong decisions. This, I feel, is a very strong point of the system as not only the dispute will be solved by consensus, but the people forming consensus have an incentive to give there best judgement.
3. BREAKING CENSORSHIP
There is no chance of someone deleting/ blocking your account because of spam reviews. As its implemented on the blockchain, you own your account securely and immutably. So no censorship.
All in all, Blocklancer is a promising solution and alternative to a problem that many like us would like to be solved. So that there are no "Dissatisfied or Sad Minions" but only a happy group of workers making the world better.
Early ICO investors get the tokens that will run the network once finalized. The tokens shall be tradeable so you stand to make money on the investment. The ICO is just a few days away and now would be great time to catch it.

P.S. : I have utmost respect for the freelancers/ minions of the world...Cheers..!!
: This is not investment advice. Read up and make your decisions. Never invest more than you can't afford to lose.

I am Manish Joshi from India and have just begun to explore the technological and investment opportunities in cryptocurrency and blockchain space. I wish to collaborate with learners who are nearby so give me a shout-out if you are from India. Especially a student interested in exploring this. I believe we can learn faster together and assist each other. I have found some of you from your posts related to technology and this goes out to you guys specifically. All in good faith. Let me know.
@swaraj from your post on John Cena and bitcoin.
@codinggeeks from your introduction of yourself as a technology enthusiast.

@adityavijayr who has a lot of informative stuff to share with us all.
Hello.
Your post was featured in my daily newsletter. Congratulations :)
Now I am also resteeming the article.
Followed, of course.
By the way, check my article on FoodCoin ICO. It may interest you.
Thank you @ervin-lemark. I just joined Steemit and looking forward to collaborate and contribute. Although that article could sure use a few upvotes..:P
I don't know if its just bad or people are prudent with the upvotes..which is a good thing i guess..
Thanks again to you..
Things with upvotes have changed after the last hard fork. Now your voting power goes down 2% with every upvote that you make. And it takes time to build it up again. So people are more cautious now ...
You can see where you stand looking at the info on these sites:

Cool..Quite a lot of data to watch there..Thank you for the directions..:)
Thanks and exactly.
@mxj, take a note and check it out ;)

Good luck with your further writing!
I am running out of "Thankyous" here @ervin-lemark..And i plan to write further useful things. Thanks for the kind words..
No problem :)
We are here, on this platform and on this planet, to help each other.
You have a long road in front of you on a way to success on Steemit. It will be a wild ride. Enjoy it :)
I think a good start and #introduceyourself post with a verification picture, like "steemit" written on a paper etc so that people can get to know you start to connect to you. No no doubt you will enjoy steemit
Welcome to Steemit. There is an informal freelancing system here called SteemGigs. People advertise a job they want doing and others can tender for it. I've heard of a few people getting art or music done that way. There's a great opportunity for people around the world to sell their services.
You know it is really touching to see this comment and to recall that you were also on tsu among other things just the timeliness of it. Earlier today there were talks about this and now it is conclusive that an interface has to come out after 4 months of pushing it without much power and not to tire out did the "steemgigs" witness for further inspiration which i am hopeful you may want to support. Overall though, thank you for this comment. Working with someone for an app to come out. I really can't wait. the community on discord is almost 500 even though i haven't been able to push the tag well enough. Stay awesome and really steemgigs work. Look:
The animation on the video was product of a steemgig etc
Hello @steevc..Love your description..I play a bit of guitar myself too..Mostly learnt from youtube..I am working to stake claim to both of those descriptions..Geek and Guitarist..
I'll surely checkout SteemGigs..
I learnt in the days before Youtube. I envy those who started with that advantage. We're spoilt for lessons now, but you still have to put in the work. Rock on!

Very useful thinking @mxj
I'm currently exploring the idea of a blockchain based Education platform so what you've shared here is likely to help the cause.
Be in touch if I can help in any way!
Much ❤️

Working on an interface soonest but in the meantime it is already functional 4 months now and also profitable when done in the form of posts.
