Blockchain syncing a very long wait...

I am still dumb founded by how difficult it is to sync a new wallet to the last position on a blockchain. I am a total noob and believe there are a ton of experts out there that can speed up the process instead of having to wait for days to get the wallet to sync. I am still searching for what that process is.
