Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played lots of roles in the development of technology across all spheres. Now, many industries rely on AI to automate and facilitate different kinds of activities.

Gradually, we are shifting from the human-centric work system to one that would be powered by technology - especially AI.

The AI Challenge

As much as Artificial Intelligence (AI) is great, it still has some loose ends to tie. The continued misunderstanding of some concepts by AI is not only worrisome but is also opening up the opportunity for AI criticisms.

It is in light of this that the EpiK Protocol was launched to offer better AI opportunities. AI is the future of many things. For that future to be sustained, this project (EpiK Protocol) deems it proper to keep the “AI house in order.”

The Need for More Cognitive Functions

Currently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is great at many things, including identifying lots of things. However, the AI lacuna starts from the misunderstanding of some concepts that were believed to be one of the easiest for AI to understand.

This, the primary basis of the EpiK Protocol project is to lead a powerful ecosystem that tends to create more opportunities for AI to have more cognitive functions.

With the ability to understand several things, interpret the same and use the information for advanced work, AI would be aiding the information era explosion.

The KG Technology Lacuna

I would like to mention that the current inability of AI to understand some concepts or have more cognitive capabilities is not overlooked.

Efforts have been made over the years to find a balance between the human-decision-making process to create a defined pathway for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make more accurate predictions.

The most notable effort in this regard is the introduction of the Knowledge Graph (KG) technology by Google.

The idea was to leverage this to help Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machines to easily understand and interpret different forms of human knowledge, including videos, texts, and pictures.

However, this hasn’t lived up to expectations because the misunderstanding by AI is still not fully resolved.

Can Blockchain Pave the Way?

EpiK Protocol is committed to adding more layers to the advancement of the Knowledge Graph (KG) technology created by Google.

The idea is to seek more opportunities that would be leveraged to construct or build an advanced Knowledge Graph (KG) that would be fully utilized by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The efforts of this project (EpiK Protocol) in that regard are to build a decentralized variant of the existing Knowledge Graph (KG).

The concept of decentralization also means the integration of blockchain technology into the fold.

Besides, EpiK Protocol is also tapping on many other perspectives to increase the workability of the decentralized KG it is building for the advancement of AI.

Breaking the Ice with a Multi-Party Collaboration Platform

A bulk of all that EpiK Protocol would be doing would be to set up a new ecosystem that would push for the advancement of AI from different fronts.

The protocol breaks the ice through various channels, including:

1. Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)

First, EpiK Protocol operates a user-oriented governance ecosystem. As it put it, “EpiK Protocol is a decentralized trusted knowledge graph collaboration of the People, by the People, for the People.”

The deduction is that the protocol is committed to creating an inclusive ecosystem where all hands will be on deck to create an advanced AI structure.

Also, the use of the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is to ensure that the governance of the broader EpiK Protocol ecosystem is under the control of the users.

The collective participation of everyone would go a long way to enable trust and breed transparency every step of the way.

2. Tokenized Economy

EpiK Protocol also features a uniquely designed token economy, which is in place to reward the users for being active participants in the broader EpiK Protocol ecosystem.

The EpiK Protocol Decentralized KG Ecosystem

Here, I will talk about the decentralized Knowledge Graph (KG) ecosystem set up by EpiK Protocol. It is in this ecosystem that you will understand some of the technical undertones of what this protocol intends to do towards the advancement of AI’s cognitive capabilities.

1. Trusted Storage

This is the first aspect of the EpiK Protocol inputs towards the decentralization of the existing Knowledge Graph (KG) ecosystem.

Here, we are looking at the establishment of what would become the world’s first decentralized storage protocol for AI-related data.

This is possible because of the ability of the EpiK Protocol to leverage the decentralized storage technology used by Filecoin.

Through this process, it would be convenient for EpiK Protocol to achieve trusted storage for AI-related data.

This is not leaving out the fact that the decentralization and security of this advanced AI storage system would be buoyed by the peer-to-peer network, which EpiK Protocol inherits from Filecoin.

The name of this peer storage and sharing system is IFPS and it would be used in different ways to distributed AI-related data, as well as preventing the duplication of data blocks.

2. Trusted Governance

The governance of the EpiK Protocol ecosystem is airtight in the sense that it doesn’t rely on just one person before important decisions can be made and effected.

Instead, it is an inclusive, collaborative and user-centric governance ecosystem where the selected parties will be allowed to vote based on their differing interests.

It is also important to mention that the Decentralized Governance Organization (DAO) ecosystem set up by EpiK Protocol is divided into 3 groups, whereby the activities in each of the groups are coordinated to a feasible end.

The Impact on AI Cognition

The goal of the EpiK Protocol is to reimagine Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a way that the application of a decentralized Knowledge Graph (KG) would be feasible.

Also, this project would be seeking collaborations as time goes. This would go a long way to bring more experts into the ecosystem.

Together, more AI-related data would be sourced and distributed within the EpiK Protocol ecosystem.

At the end of the day, we will have a more “learned” AI system that does not only understand different facets of human knowledge but also understands and utilizes the same to bring forth reliable data.
