Introduction

The use of the internet has grown in this 21st century and approximately 51% of the world’s population make use of it one way or the other. We generate a lot of data as we make use of the internet and digital systems everyday and these data need to be stored and owned. Cloud storage is one of the means by which data can be stored. It enables data to be stored, shared and accessed over the internet using a device that is connected to the internet. The weakness with the cloud storage system is that; its centralized nature made it prone to hackers and government eavesdropping, data could be lost if bills are not paid, and also the price may rise substantially when there is an increase in storage requirements. I introduced to you a decentralized network called Ubbey network that has come to settle all these weaknesses and solve other issues related to data.

What is Ubbey nework?

The Ubbey network is a decentralized (blockchain) based network that enables ownership exchange of physical assets (cars, land, luxury products) and digital assets (data, images, tokens) in a peer to peer way. This network is powered by Ubbey Box and Ownership Protocol (OWP).

The Ubbey Box: It is a hardware device that is designed by Universal Labs to be used as personal cloud storage for both individuals and enterprises. The first version of the device will have 1TB or 2TB storage capacity that will enable users to store or back up files at one place. These data can be accessed by the users at anytime and from anywhere through smart phones, computers and other devices. If your Ubbey box get missing, do not panic, you can still access your data (files) from Ubbery network as your data are preserved permanently in the network. The device can be used to mine YOU token as it is endowed with full nodes which will randomly be selected based on Proof of Storage (PoS) algorithm. Users can also be rewarded with YOU tokens as an incentive for sharing their personal storage space. Users of Ubbey network, get to save a great deal of money on storage cost in comparison with other options such as Dropbox and Amazon Web Services. Privacy is a major concern so far as data is concerned. Ubbey network got you covered as it provides 100% file privacy. The files stored on the network are encrypted and distributed across its decentralized network and only you can decrypt the file and access it.

Ownership Protocol (OWP): Digital assets (data) are just as valuable as physical assets such as land, capital, labour etc and hence required ownership. The OWP on the Ubbey network enables users to turn storage and data into valuable assets. OWP provides the universal standard for digital data ownership and exchange of this ownership like in a peer to peer exchange.

Uses of YOU coin

The currency of the Ubbey network is YOU token. It is used as payment of creation and execution of smart contracts, exchange of digital asset ownership/sharing of digital assets, retrieval/recovery of data and also people who shares their storage capacity with the network will be rewarded in YOU coins. It is also used for purchasing storage space and can be exchanged into other currencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum and US Dollars) as well.
