With SEC squashing proposals of Bitcoin ETF, a regulated bitcoin ETF seems more like a distant pipe dream. Meanwhile for a glimmer of hope, blockchain ETF's have already made their debut in mainstream markets. The one thing that has remained positive amidst the legal battles of chaos, is the appreciation of the role blockchain technology can play in our future. There are already four blockchain ETFs trading in regulated markets. All four were launched in 2018 and have a combined $278 million worth of assets under management (February, 2018). According to a Wall Street Journal report, investors put $180 million into blockchain ETFs within the first two weeks of their launch. Major renowned companies like IBM have already started experimenting with blockchain and there are many more to follow.
