BitDegree WINS Moonrise 2017 blockchain startup competition!
WE ARE THE WINNERS… OF MOONRISE 2017! BitDegree has won the Moonrise 2017 blockchain startup competition after wowing the event’s judging panel of investors and blockchain experts with its revolutionary idea of applying blockchain to education, plus its incentivised token-based learning model.
BitDegree was amongst the final 10 blockchain-based startups to be in with a chance of winning Moonrise 2017.
As part of the prize, BitDegree will receive EUR 3,000 in cash, an invitation to spend a day at the Consensys office in New York City, Funderbeam consultation for startups, four tickets to the 2018 Moontec conference, plus another three tickets to the WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2018!
The final 10 participants were required to pitch their blockchain-based idea to the panel of investors and blockchain experts on the afternoon of December 5.
BitDegree co-founder, Danielius Stasiulis, who delivered the winning pitch said: “To have won Moonrise 2017 is little short of breathtaking for everyone working at BitDegree! When the United States stated its mission to put a man on the moon, President John F. Kennedy said “we choose to go to the moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard”. To paraphrase JFK, BitDegree chooses to reinvent education because it is extremely important for future generations! We need everyone’s help and support because only together can we reinvent education. Thank you to all of the judges, competitors, and other blockchain companies who have already reached out to collaborate with us.”
BitDegree CEO Andrius Putna added: “To be number one at Moonrise 2017 is amazing for BitDegree, and I would like to thank Danielius for his pitch, as well as everyone else involved with us. With the eyes of the blockchain community and potential on us, we have to work even harder to deliver on our promises. In the meantime, please join the BitDegree crowdsale. It is live and will end soon!”
After winning Moonrise 2017, BitDegree attracted enormous attention from potential blockchain-based partners, who include Orca and LEAP. It also met with its existing partner, Singularity, who have been invited to visit the BitDegree office during the crowdsale period.
Moonrise is organized by Moontec, the main blockchain startup blockchain technology conference in Northern Europe. The Moonrise competition’s objective is simple — to find the most innovative early stage blockchain startups, and connect them with a global network that gives them financial and business support.
Moontec 2017 hosted 50 speakers and over 1,000 attendees from IBM, Microsoft, Bitcoin Foundation, Hyperledger, Consensys, Lykke, Reply, Accenture, and DFJ.
Moontec 2017 was held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
