Axelar Network Team
The success of any project primarily depends on its team, both on the individual skills and experiences of each member, and on their ability to work together. And the Axelar Network team is not just a group of talented and experienced individuals, but a well-coordinated mechanism where the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
The co-founders of Axelar - Sergey Gorbunov and Georgios Vlachos - have already worked together on the Algorand project (both are members of the Algorand founding team). At the same time, their skills and experience complement each other perfectly.
Sergey is a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an assistant professor at the University of Waterloo. He has extensive experience in developing crypto protocols for a variety of decentralized projects. Georgios, who is responsible for mathematics in the project, is a Master of Engineering from MIT and the winner of the gold medal of the International Math Olympiad.
However, it would be a mistake to believe that Axelar Network relies solely on its founders. The entire project team consists of highly qualified specialists, each of whom is critically important for the overall success of the project.
For example, leading positions in the development of Axelar Network are occupied by two PhDs of the University of Waterloo: Christian Goreflo, who has more than ten years of software development experience and specializes in optimizing and improving the performance of distributed networks, and Gus Gutoski, who is specialized on quantum computing and is one of the co-authors of gnark - ZK proof library.
For all members of the Axelar Network team, this is not the first project - everyone has successful developments to show, and for many, this is not the first project that they are developing together. This gives Axelar Network a huge advantage in the pace of development and reduces the risks associated with this process.
