Hello!, it's @akomoajong again with news about blockchain adoption in Africa. My search and Interest in blockchain innovations across Africa continues with this post. Haven't written a few posts on this topic, I more interested in getting more information in order to continue this trend of posts. Today's post has to do with blockchain adoption in Kenya.

In many countries around the world, Ownership and sales of land through land titles is very complicated and often leads to corruption. This is also a major problem in Africa. Cases of two or more people having land titles for a particular or the same piece of land are common across Africa.

For the above reasons and maybe more, the Kenyan government has decided to a take a step to solving these problems. Joseph Mucheru, Kenyan Minister of Information has been assigned to put together a team that will investigate how Blockchain technology and Artificial intelligence can be used to put an end to real estate or land disputes.

Mr Mucheru has already put up a team and he said this in an interview with the BBC:

A blockchain platform will provide security, efficiency and transparency.

The leader of the team setup by Mr Mucheru, Bitangee Ndemo added:

We missed the internet wave, caught up with mobile technology. Blockchain is the next wave and we must be part of it.

It should be noted that there is already a business man working towards this goal. Peter Tole who is head of Land Layby Group (LLG), a Nairobi-based (Nairobi is the capital of Kenya) real estate firm has launched a private blockchain based land registry network that is being used at the moment to buy properties safely.

Mr Tole says he plans to expand this network to other African countries and currently, he has already extended his company to Ghana. Visit Land Layby Group Ghana

Mr Tole made the following comment during one of his interviews

I see most African governments adopting this (blockchain) technology that will revolutionize land registries.

It is a great feeling to see that some countries in Africa are interested in Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency. We have had some massive news or announce from some countries like Uganda, South Africa and Ethiopia over the past few days and I hope to see this trend of news or announcement continue with this sort of pace.

Well, this is a bold move to end the long standing land issues and the ever increasing landgrabbing. However, with the Nging'u land report still hiddedn "somewhere", the powers that be will still block the move. Thanks for sharing. Pamoja

I think since it's the government that wants to setup the blockchain, it can't be blocked. There is no higher power in a country than its government.

I enjoyed your contribution and perspective regarding block-chain technology on steemit.com today. Thank you.
