What is Nametoken?
It is a blockchain-based Domain Name investment platform free of the usual restrictions of a standard domain name service provider. The team behind the project have a domain name background with over 20 years experience both in the domain trading business and in developing applications. The company’s founders, Frank Menze and Jens Peterssen have previously traded domains worth several million US Dollars.
Tokens will be available for purchase with Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin. They don't accept exchange wallets and they warn that all funds transferred from exchanges will be lost. The recommended wallet to use is Mist, MyEtherWallet, Metamask or Parity to receive purchased tokens. Unfortunately, US citizens are not allowed to invest due to their country laws which was published a few days ago (24th of July 2017). But they could buy them on the secondary market.
What does it offer?

Yes I trade domains in the regular fiat market, doing this via a blockchain is super smart, so where to sign up ? but I will not touch bitcoin before the end of the first week of august, who in their right mind starts an ico on 1 august 2017 ? If I was to manage this I would have postponed the ico 14 days to settle the dust of any fears for bitcoin forks
Great. Now to sign up you should wait until the opening on 1st of August as shown on the captured blue image on the top. I think it will be for about a month or so open for participation. So you're good to go.

Any announcement on Bitcointalk?
Namecoin differs from nametoken and price development wasn"t very good. This ICO is expecting 20200 BTC. Hard to believe a payout with similiar magnitude.
Haven't seen it on Bitcointalk. I think that we can't compare namecoin with nametoken, because both support totally different ideas. I also believe that the idea of nametoken is good and will succeed some how, because of its added value (fewer fees, smart contracts...).
