Black Panther - The Best Marvel Movie To Date? -
Personally, Black Panther isn't the best Marvel movie ever. It's still Winter Soldier for me, but is Black Panther an important movie for Marvel? Oh, it sure is. My first impression after watching the movie is probably, meaningful.
No other Marvel movie has done it like this before. Making the movie a very meaningful one. Sure, most of them tie up the MCU quite well, but Black Panther is all about Wakanda and her fight against the world. Conflicted ideas of what Wakanda should be and should do is the main theme behind this movie. Then there's King T'Challa and Erik Killmonger. I honestly couldn't bring myself to make Killmonger a villain. He was a victim of bad decisions. He's just doing what a lot of us would've done. Get what he deserves. And boy, this was one of Marvel's best villains in years.
I really loved the way they portrayed T'Challa. He was a conflicted man halfway through the movie and conflict is a good addition to any movie. Does he keep Wakanda hidden? Or does he help the world with the technological advancements that Wakanda has? His father lied to him, and he didn't want to lie anymore. That really sets a good precedence for the climax of the movie. He has to battle Killmonger while fighting his inner demons. This is the conflict that makes a King a King.
Throughout the movie, you'll realize how beautiful and alive everything is. Marvel has done an amazing job making Wakanda coming to life. I appreciate all the African cultures being represented here. The languages, their wardrobe and also their art. My goodness was it all beautiful. And the soundtrack. Don't get me started on it. Every moment of it felt amazing as the drums kept playing in the background. They incorporated the African drums and did it fit in so well.
Honestly, the CGI in some scenes were a little off. It just didn't feel that smooth but that's just a small thing. The action was excellent. Some stunts were epicly done and the fight scenes were entertaining. However, it did suffer with some pacing issues. It took a little long to get where it needs to, but that's also fine because the ending was a good enough reward for the wait.
So, If you're wondering if you should watch it? Go.
Oh, and listen to the soundtrack and enjoy it. Black Panther also has two post-credit scenes. Wait till the end. Gonna be interesting what Wakanda technology and Tony Stark's brain combined will show us.
8.5/10 WAKANDA FOREVER
Bring on the Infinity War.
Hello, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and Black Panther was cool like a Fountain of Youth with ninjas instead of Pirates of the Caribbeans.
