George Floyd

I just wanted to share a picture that many of us have never seen before.

That's George Floyd. Hundreds of thousands of people have been calling his name for days. He's not a slogan though.

That mildly dorky half-grin, and the jauntily cocked hat, that half-cocky/half-skeptical look on his face, and Courteney, the woman he loved (she's mostly cut out of the picture, but you can find her testimonials to him online)... that's George Floyd. Not a slogan. George.

I'm begging you, to find people that don't understand, and to teach them, and to say his name.

Breonna Taylor

But we must also not forget Breonna Taylor.

She was gunned down in the middle of the night by police on a no-warrant intrusion.

They got the address wrong, and the perpetrator they were looking for was already in custody.

The FBI have opened up an investigation into this incident.

All of the rioting and destruction of property is truly awful, but not even close to the awful destruction of Breonna and the lives of her loved ones at the hands of the police.

To be honest, the investigation should have happened the day she was killed.

Black lives matter.

Breonna's life mattered.
