BitConnect Glitch??

I don't have any position in BitConnect but i do have an account and have been seriously contemplating investing, i hear a lot of people say that BitConnect is a scam so have held back, anyway; i thought i would log in to my account today only to find that access has been blocked for a minimum of 2 days, apparently there was a glitch that allowed people to withdraw more BCC than they actually own so all access to the platform has been suspended until the issue is resolved.

The BitConnect team have asked that people return their ill-gotten gains but i don't think a lot of people will comply they also released a statement which you can see here.
