Hello, new crypto investor. Is blockchain new and confusing? Well, I manage to put together a step by step guide to get you in the game. My name is Anthony Cruz (CryptoCruz). I work in tech in San Francisco and have been researching the crypto space for over a year. Made the jump to invest into crypto October of 2017. I hope this blog is the first step of your journey in investing and potentially changing your life (financially or intellectually). The contents of this article are designed to help you be an advance crypto investor like myself. I will always continue to learn, make adjustments to my strategy, and adapt to any new changes.

1.Research

Researching is key, so being in the now helps you be successful in this ever-changing market. One trend I've have noticed is that technology is moving faster than ever before. Blockchain technology is new and its value is huge. I'd suggest watching "Banking on Bitcoin" on Netflix. It explains what Blockchain technology is and why it's making waves in the financial industry.

Bitcoin has become the front-runner in establishing itself as a currency where people can trust. Why? It's a "Decentralized" ledger that exists on every computer, server, and smartphone that interacts with the blockchain network. Making it impossible to hack or alter any change within the ledger thus giving the public trust in its functionality. Miners mine bitcoin by using AntMiner S9 that help run the blockchain algorithm and continue completing parts of the blockchain. For bitcoin, the blockchain is expected to be fully developed at the year 2020 and capped at 22 million coins. Miners help verify each transaction in the network and anyone can be a miner, which really makes this decentralized blockchain component a big deal. This gives people a means of exchange without banks or governments.

Blockchain (decentralized ledger, miners, cryptocurrency) has more possibilities than just currency. Only time will tell but plan to blog as new things develop.

2.Buying CryptoCurrency or Holding (Staking to gain profit, sell later at higher value)

The second step is figuring out how to purchase Cryptocurrency. Today, there are over 1,300 cryptocurrencies, but easy to get Bitcoin(BTC), Etherum(ETH), Litecoin(LTC) or Bitcoin Cash(BCH). They are considered to be the most trusted cryptocurrencies in the market.

Check out the Coin Market Cap Website (To see all the crypto's in today's market and their value. )

Next, get registered in crypto exchanges. My top 2 are Coinbase and Gemini. Getting verified may take a few days, but be prepared to show your ID and provide information to set up your account. These 2 exchanges are limited to what crypto's you can purchase but it is your first step investing other opportunities. Kraken has more options but it's not something I usually use. ALWAYS set up a Google Authenticator on any exchange or platform in the crypto space. It's the best way to protect your assets.

Here the links to get registered:
Coinbase
Gemini

You can choose to buy pieces of a coin (small or large), but please understand don't spend what you can not lose. The Crypto space is highly volatile and speculative, so proceed with caution and learn as much as you can about each coin.

Simply buying coins is a form of investing. Holding coins as the value increases, then sell to make a profit. You can choose to sell back the coin to USD then transfer the funds directly to your bank account. In 2018 there will be a lot of regulation coming soon like taxes, so please be up to date on what's to come.

3.High Yield Interest Programs (HYIP)

There are few HYIP's out there but my personal favorite is lending platforms. I would recommend BitConnect because they have been working for me, they have been around for awhile, always innovating, communicate to investors, and still paying out. Basically is a great way to diversify your portfolio and expand into other elements to hedge against ICO's, trading, or holding. HYIP's are #1 on my list to start:

Yes, Bitconnect has gotten a lot of hype bad and good but they are proving to be a leading contender in the lending platform space. Investing in BitConnect Lending gives you a way invest in their BitConnect coin and lend it for daily interest for a period of time, in you which you get your capital back. Bitconnect has their own Crypto Currency and is traded on other exchanges like HitBTC, which is a big deal. You first trade your Bitcoin (BTC) for Bitconnect coins (BCC) then lend to Bitconnect in which they use an internal trading bot with a volatility software. The trading bot trades Bitcoin and Bitconnect coins against the US dollar whenever the price rises or is lowered. You receive daily profit based on the investment options you go with. Upon term completion, you will receive your capital back to take out from the bitconnect for profit or have the option reinvest it back to lending.

Above are the amounts you can invest in and the duration in which they are locked for a period of time and you get daily interest in return. Below are the daily interest rates people get.

Bitconnect is a great way to start building a foundation earn interest over time and build capital. For example, if you plan to invest a $1,000 to lend, then reinvest your daily profits each day. They average about .04% -1.40% daily, which is better then any bank gets you for having a savings account.

Here is the link for Bitconnect here:

Why I recommend is the ability to compound the interest. You can reinvest what you get from your profits as little as $10.Makes it easy if you don't have not much capital to start. Just be sure to check daily into the program to reinvest.

4.Trading: (Foreign Exchanges)

Trading is one of the fastest ways to earn profit but it is also highly risky if you do not know what you are doing.
Most of the cryptocurrency markets exist in South Korea, Japan, US, and EU. The top exchanges I recommend to trade are based on the volume, reviews, ability to trade other altcoins, secure, trusted by the crypto community, great tools, and been around for awhile.

Binance:

It is one of the fastest growing foreign exchanges and you can trade using their mobile app as well. They have a strong team Led by Changpeng Zhao, their team has experience in both wall-street and crypto finance. The team also has a track record of successful startups under their belt. A proven product, a superior technology that is capable of processing 1,400,000 orders per second, and have solid relationships with industry leaders in the space. See an intro video about them below.

Since this exchange is foreign you would need to send cryptocurrency like BTC, ETH, or LTC to the exchange and you can start trading right away. They do not plug into a bank account so deposits and withdrawals are done through cryptocurrency. So again similar to what you do for Bitconnect, sending your profits in crypto to an exchange that is connected to your bank.

Check out Binance here.

I'd recommend checking a video from Crypto Jay who is an expert in the field, he has been in the space for awhile but importantly he has created a community of crypto investors who want to learn, trade, and how to invest in crypto.

Hope the video helps you understand how to trade and understand how the market works. Learn when to buy and when to sell.

4.Pre ICO's purchasing

ICO's are one of the most profitable, but again most risky. An ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is similar to a company going public like an IPO (Initial Public Offering). People who would like to invest in a company who has great leadership, a proven product, and has been hitting great sales numbers time and time again.

An ICO is the same concept but you are investing in blockchain technology of a coin that has a unique value or purpose. For example a great coin like Tron (TRX). They already past the ICO stage and now tradable on exchanges like Binance and others.

What is TRON?

"TRON aims to "heal the Internet" by constructing a worldwide free content entertainment system on the blockchain. The protocol allows users to freely publish, store and own data, enabling them to own the rights to their content and decide when, how, and at what cost to share it.

Sun (CEO) wants to position TRON as a new kind of "distributed economy" in digital entertainment—including anything from streaming video to online gambling to social networks—where the users themselves own the economy. TRONIX is the cryptocurrency that runs on TRON. An important note here is that, in service of that distributed economy, TRON also supports other cryptocurrencies." Source:

There a series of coins you can do research on, participate, buy coins at a rate anywhere from $1-$0.60, and hold when the price gets a point where you feel you would want to sell. Most cases holding to those coins that will be valuable is always best to hold in about 2-4 months. Most sellers would want to sell the price gets closer to $20-$40 a coin. So to break this down.

Let's say you bought $300 worth of ICO coins at the price of $0.60 each. You would have about 500 coins. When the coin price gets around the $20 range, sell. Getting you $10,000 worth of value. Investors typically sell it back to Bitcoin because it's the best way to transfer to your personal exchange for fiat USD currency. Equaling a 3,333% increase of its original investment or $9,700 in profit. Sounds amazing, but there is always a but. It's extremely difficult to purchase these coins because of high demand, and offered on certain dates and times. Some ICO's maybe scams in which research is key when deciding to invest.

The cryptoJunkies community has developed a website of the most trusted ICO's to buy here.

Strategy

Now after discovering how to get in on the action. You may ask, so how should I split up my investments? Well here is how you can diversify your investment portfolio in the crypto space. I'd prefer to start in phases. You should see a timeline, in which you set a foundation for investing in HYIP and ICO's first. It's easy and a good way to get into the space. Over time move into the next phase where you're experienced with more capital you can build capital.

Phase 1: 2-3 months

  • 60% in HYIP
  • 40% in ICO's

Phase 2: 3-6 months (Starting to get comfortable in trading)

  • 40% in HYIP
  • 30% in ICO's
  • 30% in Trading

Phase 3: 6+ months (Learned how to trade, involved in a community to help you learn and be on top of news)

  • 40% in HYIP
  • 20% in ICO's
  • 30% in Trading
  • 10% in Holding

So finding a great community of people to get to know and help you be on top of these cryptocurrency space can really help you grow your investment opportunities. Be sure to read a lot of information, watch Banking on Bitcoin, and connect with fellow Crypto Investors in the community.
