Good day friends, welcome to my blog this day. Here is my third post on this contest (MY FAVORITE CRYPTOCURRENCY). You will believe with me that the economy world is been taken over by cryptocurrencies and it's gradually becoming the future of the world at large.

What Is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a decentralized open source blockchain featuring smart contract functionality. Ether (ETH) is the native cryptocurrency token of the Ethereum platform. It is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, behind Bitcoin. Ethereum was launched in 2015 and it has a decentralized replicated machine called Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
The coin is ETHER and not ETHEREUM as many people wrongly call it. The function of this machine is that it execute Turing-complete scripts and run decentralized applications. Ethereum is used for many initial coin offerings and also for "decentralized finance".

Ethereum happen to be one of my favorite cryptocurrency that I have and transact with. As we all know Eth is one of the most popular cryptocurrency in the world. Although, it's in a small volume which is due to its price being on the high side and financially I'm yet to get to the extent to which I'll have #1Eth.

How Long Have I Had Ether

I got hold of Ether late September when a Sister of mine introduced me to a platform #Earnersfx. It was there I converted my earnings on that platform to Ether. It was also then that I opened a #Trust wallet. Before then, I was using Binance only as a platform for crypto exchange.

Why I Chose Ether

I had to choose Ether because I had prior knowledge of the crypto and I knew Ethereum to be the largest active blockchain in the world. Ethereum is a whole network with its own internet browser coding language and payment system. It enables users to create decentralized applications on its blockchain.

How Ethereum Operates

It's operation is very similar to Bitcoin's but with a little upgrades in that it can be used in different applications.
It is a multipurpose platform with its digital currency Ether being a component of it's smart applications. It supports applications where it serves as fuel in running the Apps. Ethereum can also be used to create Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO). DAO operates transparently and it is independent of any intervention.

My Thoughts About Ether

Please I stand to be corrected if any of the following is not true in its entirety.

• I think Ether is one of the best cryptocurrency in the world
• Ethereum has more application usage than Bitcoin
• It's now safer than it was used to be about 2 years ago.
• It can be easily converted to other cryptos that Bitcoin can not be converted to... That explains its "versatility".
• In the nearest future, Ethereum will be there competing with Bitcoin.

My Plans On Ether

I plan to learn more about Ethereum, it's seemingly endless usage and see if I can buy more of it in the nearest future.
