On this day eight years ago, Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas in possibly the most famous transaction in all of crypto.

Worth a combined $41 at the time, as of writing that same transaction would now be worth $825,482,000.

Shiiiit!

However, at the time Laszlo had mined the bitcoin for free, and they were worth so little at the time that he didn't even see it as being an issue. In fact, he was excited to have an opportunity to utilise the technology in a real-world context.

Even better, fast-forward to February of this year and Laszlo again bought two pizzas using bitcoin: 0.000649 of a single bitcoin to be precise.
