Now Mine Bitcoin While Watching Your Favourite TV Show

Canaan Creative, the China-based world second biggest manufacturer of Bitcoin mining rigs is now betting on a unique project to further fuel its growth, world’s first bitcoin mining TV sets.

To be called as AvalonMiner Inside, the TV set is powered by artificial intelligence and has voice control features. Additionally, it can calculate the bitcoin mining profitability in real-time. The Avalon TV will have a processing power of 2.8 trillion hashes per second. Canaan’s most powerful machine has a processing power of 11 trillion hashes per second. The reward earned through the mining process will enable users to purchase entertainment content or physical gifts through Canaan’s platform.

According to the company, the creation of AvalonMiner Inside will enable more home appliance to integrate with the latest technology and will build a user base for the next era of blockchain and AI. The company plans to mainly distribute the product to retailers who in turn will sell to customers and it also has plans to expand its range of blockchain-related home appliances.

Canaan was founded in 2013 and is largely known for its mass-producing chips designed for bitcoin mining and competes with Beijing-based Bitmain Technologies. This specific product launch comes after the company submitted an application for IPO in Hong Kong in May, in which it expects to raise $1 billion.

In 2017, the company’s revenue was reported at 1.3 billion yuan ($205 million), a 27-fold increase from the previous year and profits were at 361 million yuan, an increase of more than 230-fold since 2015.
