The long awaited added functionality of cryptocurrencies -- as a digital currency, is coming true. Early morning news on City A.M. - Emily Nicolle, revealed a partnership between Coinbase and London-based startup WeGift to allow its users to load electronic gift cards with cryptocurrency. The service is currently only available in some parts of Europe, including UK, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain, as well as Australia.
"Whether it’s converting bitcoin into Uber credits or ethereum into an ASOS e-gift card, customers will have greater flexibility and control over how they use their crypto," the digital exchange's UK chief executive Zeeshan Feroz said in a statement.

Earlier today, Coinbase was cleared of Bitcoin Cash insider trading. Following a sudden surge on Bitcoin Cash's prices, Coinbase launched an investigation last December into whether its employees engaged in improper trading related to Bitcoin Cash.
In the article on Fortune - Jeff John Roberts stated that, "the price jump preceding the official announcement prompted questions about whether Coinbase employees acted on inside knowledge to buy Bitcoin Cash ahead of the rest of the market."
“We would not hesitate to terminate an employee or contractor and/or take appropriate legal action if evidence showed our policies were violated. We can report that the voluntary, independent internal investigation has come to a close, and we have determined to take no disciplinary action.” Coinbase announced that there was no foul play.
