How The Kenyan Government Plans To Use Blockchain In New Low Cost Housing Project
The Kenyan government is planning to utilize blockchain technology to manage the government's new low cost housing project of 500,000 units by 2022. This project is aimed at providing affordable housing to contributors who are earning less than $1,000 per month, since they can not afford mortgages.
According to reports from Kenya, this is a country where salaries of 97% of the employed population are less than $1,000 a month. This is why the government has come in with plans to introduce blockchain technology in the new housing project to ensure fair distribution of housing to deserving contributors or participants. This will also reduce corruption by legislators and beneficiaries as well.
The Kenyan government has been in news some time back as one of the leading corrupt governments in Africa and the entire world. This has caused the government to launch campaigns across the country addressing the issue of graft from both legislators and recipients.
The government hopes that the new technology will re-establish public trust with its citizens and in the government's housing initiatives. The project is intended to ensure that right owners live in government funded housing projects.
Till then...
