All of this Bitcoin Cash thing smells fishy to me. I also don't trust sending out Private Keys (I know there are workarounds). Something is rubbing me the wrong way and it might be some sort of fraud.
Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are using the same blockchain, so they are legit (Something like Ethereum and Ethereum Classic), but they are trying to mislead people to invest in Bitcoin Cash.
Oh, for sure it's "legit" in the same way all sorts of clone coins are legit copies of bitcoin - but as you said, there is no guarantee of continued value.
