Do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The airplane and railway noise is regular. I slept through it all. Do bring a door wedge. We are not given keys for the locks in the room doors, only the main property front door. This allows your room to be tidied while you are out. Do be aware that the property is older. This means that the walls are thin and you will hear hosts/guests' conversation, and that it predates no smoking laws. A greater airflow is probably easier in the summertime when windows can be left open.
The breakfast was very good. It is served at 8 sharp. The host let me store my cheese slices in the fridge, which was much appreciated, as there are no fridges in the rooms and we are not allowed to have food in the rooms either (aside from tea/coffee, which are provided along with a kettle). The host suggested we could eat our own food at the table outside of meal times, which was helpful. It would be good to have a covered wastebin or caddy to dispose of it, so that the hosts know we are not eating it in the rooms and we can keep food waste out of the rooms too. The cats are charming and very polite and will keep aloof if not wanted. I really liked the bookshelves and books in the room. And it was nice to have a small sink in the room too.
