It is - especially when you are beginner as you put a lot of effort to gain almost nothing. It is much cheaper to buy small fraction of bitcoin for cash and possibly convert it to other crypto-currencies if you want to play with the system. All those faucets and other "get paid for watching adds" systems are pure waste of time and money.
