If you're holding the private keys to your Bitcoin wallet, it's your Bitcoin.
If you leave coins on an exchange, you're not controlling the private keys, therefore it's NOT your Bitcoin.

Transfer your Bitcoin to a wallet that you control.
Paper wallet, mobile wallet, hardware wallet... any wallet would do.
