    Bitcoin is the word, advertised in mass media.
    Ask people on the streets, what they know about Ethereum, Ripple and Bitcoin. I bet, almost all of them heard something about BTC and almost none of them heard about ETH and XRP, right?

      You’re right, but what else does it have? It has immutability and a decentralized architecture but so does almost every blockchain. Bitcoin is definitely the gateway drug for crypto and we have Satoshi to thank for that, but we also have AOL to thank for early email. That doesn’t mean we use AOL anymore.

      Agreed. Bitcoin is some kind of a hook for the novice crypto enthusiasts.
      As the fan of The Bat! by Ritlabs, no idea why we should thank or even mention the AOL :)
      Let's see what Buterin thinks about Bitcoin:

        Definitely. I don’t want to diss Nakamoto. Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies, and no one can take that away from Bitcoin.
