We are hearing news that China and the US are nearing a deal

Will they or won't they?

Most were thinking we could get some kind of deal done over the weekend, though it wasn't clear the terms.

That is pretty much what we are getting now.

Trump saying all the right things of course, but we shall see when markets open if it was enough.
