Are people doing bitcoin wrong?
I'm relatively a noob to the crypto world. Only because in 2010 I heard about bitcoin living in NYC with lots of constant "new" talk. I proceeded to read about how to mine it because I felt that was the most interesting part as a computer builder. Big decision, because not only did my electricity bill go up 100%, I subsequently lost all interest in the currency and didn't jump back in until 3 months ago.

It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we're too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone.
I believe people have lost sight of what bitcoin is supposed to do. Its not supposed to be a savings account or a share of stock, its supposed to be used as currency!
At what point are the "Whales" going to start spending some of their bitcoin on services provided by minos? For that is the only way this will create a sustainable future and make crypto currency our best friend. As a show of faith, I have announced to all my clients that my company Awen Audio Design will accept Bitcoin as payment for services.

Well i quite agree with you the model of crypto become quite askew, and more using coin as stock trading or investment rather than paiment system, leading to many unhealhy practice and schemes around it.
Only the basic thing that always disturb me, is at any rate, a transaction is only a part of a well rounded paiment system, which also should include a system of item database, billing, and integrating the transaction into the multi step process of presenting sales item, with a bill , and associated transaction, like bitpay which off chain.
In current state of things, its only one of the issue with bitcoin as it is today, and its clear its more calling to many unhealhy practice, greater fools games, pyramid schemes and scam than being developped for utility value in e commerce or with truly decentralized applications or so.
