Cuban suffers from survivorship bias. He thinks he was a great business man because as you said it he sold a domain name and recording equipment to Yahoo. He hates Gold I think partly because it fell from 1980-2000, in the period he got rich. And he hates gold because as you said he's wrong. Yes he would have over $6B if he just invested in gold in 1999. Cuban owns crypto, now that he's wrong he refers to them as collectibles. The Guy doesn't know what he is talking about and is giving horrible advise to the masses.
