They are a good project imo but do your research .They are planning of building IOT applications that's going to be there main use-case .A lot of reputable developers and the community has just started expanding to make it easier for new developers to code.IDK why there is so much fud about a ETH vs ETC they are both good in there own ways.Even after the raiden network is done on ethereum it's first practical use cases for things like IOT would be by means of ETC developers and on there chain.
https://iohk.io/about/ is working on ETC. They are the guys who are doing a great deal of Cardana development. I still think ETC isn't a good long term investment. I just see it has more sentimental upside. But I don't think ETC will ever amount to EOS or even NEO or Komodo. It'll be a good trade but bad investment.
