The Bitcoin Boom Reaches a Canadian Ghost Town
How do you revitalize old industrial towns?
Ocean Falls, BC was faced with that probelm. For the past 4 decades, the town searched for a way to revitalize itself. After the paper mill closed, the population fell from 5,000 to around 100.
One thing Ocean Falls has is plenty of electricty. Hydro power is abundant in this little town. It was an ideal situation for a technology the emerged in the last decade.
Now, this ghost town is being re-awakened by Bitcoin mining.
