HYDROGEN project - HYDRO RAINDROP 2 factor authentication, Raindrop API
HYDRO Raindrop: Public Authentication On The Blockchain.
Built on top of the Hydro public ledger is a blockchain-based authentication
service, called Raindrop.
Raindrop is like Google Authentication but more secure and more useful.
This offers a layer of security that helps verify if
an access request is coming from an appropriate source.
Raindrop consists of two protocols for authentication - server-side raindrop and client-side raindrop.
Server-Side Raindrop-
Forces someone to conduct a very random, small transaction in Hydro to prove they are who they say they are before being granted access to a system.
Client-Side Raindrop-
It is more for user accounts; it's like google authenticator, but uses public key cryptography and checks a signature against information stored on the blockchain.
"Initialization includes User setup and a subsequent connection between User and Application. To get set up for Client-Side Raindrop, a User first needs to generate a seed from which a Hydro wallet can be created. This seed generation process takes place within the Hydro Mobile App using entropy (i.e. random data) supplied by the User in conjunction with entropy supplied by a cryptographically secure random number generator."
And raindrop is just the first phase of Hydro App.
The Hydro App has four more phases to take place in two years.
