Disclaimer: This is not a financial advice or investment recommendation. This article is meant purely for educational purposes.

The majority of votes are not far from the truth, in my opinion. But what exactly are the signs that show we will most likely face another recession or radical change in the financial industry?

Unfortunately, in order to simplify this article as much as possible, I cannot go through all the why, what, and when details. But I will do my best to pinpoint the key signs of why I see a high probability of an upcoming recession or a radical change in the financial industry.

I will be going through two different types of analysis. One is from a financial perspective, and the other is from a spiritual science, which might pique your interest in how everything happens for a reason (on a spiritual level).

Financial Perspectives:

  • One key element in assessing the health of the financial industry is the rate at which banks lend to other banks (that is, the LIBOR rate). This is a very important factor, as banks are the heart of the money markets and capitalism.

  • This lending rate represents how much confidence banks have in the future economy. If their faith and confidence levels are low, they lend money to other banks at a much higher interest rate than they would otherwise.
This is similar to how banks tend to increase interest rates on a person with a bad credit score; in other words, by doing this they are telling the individual, โ€œWe donโ€™t trust you as many other customers, based on your history of financial performance (or lack of performance, for that matter).โ€

If we observe the LIBOR rates before the last recession, we notice that it was hovering around 1% in 2004. But one year later, the LIBOR rate doubled to reach 2%. By the time of the 2007 recession, it exceeded 5%.
As I write this article in August of 2018, the LIBOR rate is currently wobbling at around 1.9%. Could it be an early sign of upcoming recession? Are we looking at a recession in two years, as we were in 2005?

  • If history were to repeat itself, the answer would be yes: We are at the gates of another economic cycle.

  • Another way to look at the economyโ€™s health is to look at the spread between long-term and short-term fixed interest securities.

Fixed interest securities: a debt instrument, such as government bonds, that investors use to lend money to a company or to the government in exchange for an interest payment.

  • Normally, long-term fixed interest securities have a much higher interest rate than short-term ones. The spread between long-term and short-term yields at times of high growth was around 2.5.

Once that spread approaches zero or becomes negative, it means that there is a high demand for a short-term liquidity and a strong sign of an upcoming recession. In a big picture, it indicates an emergency state in the financial industry.

  • The current 10 yearsโ€™ / 2 yearsโ€™ yield spread is around 0.30, which is very close to zero (and in the danger zone to even become negative).

Further, if we look at economic cycle patterns from the 1950s up until today, we can see that we have been experiencing economic recessions every 10 years on average. So, if history were to repeat itselfโ€”which it tends to do a lot of the timeโ€”we are already due for another cycle.

  • I always like to play devil's advocate in order to evaluate my conclusions objectively. Therefore, I looked at interest rates for regular borrowers and I found out they are the lowest they have been since the 1950s; but, personally, I wouldnโ€™t rely on interest rates alone to predict an upcoming recession. Rather, I prefer to look at interest rates as an opportunity to use the bankโ€™s money to create wealth.

Thereโ€™s a specific reason why I donโ€™t think of interest rates as a great signpost for predicting recessions.

  • It is true that every time weโ€™ve hit a recession since the 1950s, these rates peaked; but they peaked at so many different levelsโ€”varying from 4% to 18%, which is a very wide rangeโ€”that using them to anticipate when the next move is going to happen is not very practical or reliable.

  • There are more indicators to explore as indications of an upcoming change in the financial industry, but they are considered more of a mid-term leading indicator of financial health status, and it is harder to navigate through them to craft an accurate vision of a longer-term forecast.

Next, I would like to bring a different viewpoint to the table. This perspective is far from what the typical Wall Street expert would use to analyze the markets, but it brings forth a new approach to global financial changes through the eye of spiritual science, which might intrigue some of you.

Spiritual Perspective:

I am compelled to write a small introduction before getting into the meat of this section, since to some readers it may otherwise come across as absolute gibberish.

The details to come might get you confused, but my main purpose is to evaluate whether there is a relation between the increasing probability of certain events and one of the spiritual sciences.

I know a lot of people do not believe in spirituality, and I donโ€™t blame them; my own is the result of an array of causes, which I wonโ€™t get into right now.

  • Spirituality has many layers and profound differences in approach. One of the main focuses of most spiritual teachings is energy.

Whether you like the idea or not, we all fundamentally consist of energy; everything vibrates, and the vibrations of energy in all shapes and forms influences the universe on a micro and a macro level to certain degrees.

Since everything vibrates, one approach I like to use in investigating global events is through observation of the relative movements and positions of celestial bodies and their energetic influences, then the assessment of whether there is a connection between those influences and the global events.

  • The science of studying the positions of celestial bodies is called astrology. Yes, this science is well-known for predicting your โ€œluckโ€ and many myths. But it also goes much deeper than what 90% of people know; there is a reason why this science has survived for more than 2,000 years.

Before getting into the details of my findings, Iโ€™ll go through the basics of astrology so that you can follow through.
The well-known twelve zodiacs are twelve different constellations, each of which is an observed group of bright stars that form a prominent patternโ€”such as Gemini the twins or Scorpius the scorpion.

Each of these constellations occupies a sector of the sky which makes up 30 degrees of the ecliptic. What determines your personal zodiac sign is the position of the Earth at the time of your birth in relation to these constellations.

In old astrology, your zodiac sign was often called your โ€œSun Sign,โ€ because of the way old astronomers used to observe the sun from Earth, which made it appear as if the sun โ€entered,โ€ or passed through, a constellation each month; they did not attribute the actual movement to the Earth.

  • Arguably, your nature is derived from your zodiac, but what they usually donโ€™t tell you that not only your Sun Sign but also the position of each of the planets in the solar system at the time of your birth factors into your nature.

This makes it much clearer why not every Scorpio individual is like another: because they are not only Scorpios. That is only their Sun Sign.

  • Therefore, from an energetic perspective, your nature is composed of the complex connections between the positions of the planets in the entire solar system at the time of your birth as well as your Sun Sign. From a scientific point of view, the equivalent would be your DNA.

Each one of these zodiacs is categorized under four classical elements:

  • Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
  • Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
  • Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
  • Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Planets in the solar system each have their own special qualities; once a planet enters one of twelve zodiacs, it brings forth the energy of the zodiacโ€”but from that specific planetโ€™s context.

Also, each planet has its own orbit and cycle. Saturn, for example, requires 29 years to complete a full orbit around the sun. That is why Saturn takes approximately two years to change its position from one zodiac to the other, in contrast to the Earth, which takes only one month to do so.

  • To connect back to global events and cycles: The effects of these celestial bodies impact not only individuals (the micro level) but also our society on a global scale (the macro level).

Therefore, to study mid- to long-term cycles such as financial changes (since the average number of years between recessions is 10), we must look at a planet with a longer cycle.

  • Letโ€™s look at the Uranus cycle, which takes 84 years to orbit the sun and an average of 7 years to change its positions from one zodiac to another. Due to the slow movement of Uranus (and other planets with long cycles), this planet tends to influence a large part of global events.

Uranusโ€™ energy is usually sudden, unexpected, rebellious, and reformative. It assists the process to reveal the true self. Once Uranus changes its position, we can assist or predict what kind of effect the new position could bring.

I believe the period of Uranus entering Taurus starting in March of 2019 and ending in July of 2025 would bring considerable changes to the global economy and state of finances. It might even bring forth a higher number of earthquakes with a magnitude above 8 than the average amount.

  • Before we assess whether my allegations and conclusion are correct, let's investigate real historical events in relation with Uranusโ€™ different positions.

I will summarize my findings based on the four classical elements. In other words, once Uranus enters any of the three zodiacs of the element of Fire (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius), I will place them under one categoryโ€”Uranus in Fireโ€”and observe the global events which Uranus brought about when it was placed under Fire zodiacs, and so forth.

Keep in mind that all this information is publicly available. I am putting it together in a comprehensive way, but you can research and verify all of this for yourself if you wish.

Letโ€™s start with Uranus in Fire:

The Fire element represents strength, power, and, of course, actual fire.

I have researched two key areas of global events at times when Uranus was positioned in any of the three Fire zodiacs and examined whether there may be any relation between the qualities of the Fire element and those events.

The first area is the major events of power shifts, leadership transitions, change of governmental regimes, or falls of dictatorships.

The second area I researched was actual fires worldwide.

  • The first area: If you research every revolution that has happened from the 1950s until today, you will find approximately 37 revolutions happened at those times when Uranus was in a Fire zodiacโ€”and 29 revolutions occurred at a non-Fire zodiac position.

Is that a big difference? Yes, because for a revolution to happen at a time Uranus is in a Fire zodiac has a 25% chance in a normal distribution (100 divided by 4 (number of classical elements) = 25%).

Though the percentage of how many times it happened during times when Uranus was in a Fire zodiac is only 56% (37 divided by 66 (29+37) = 56%), that is 31% increase in chance from a normal distribution (56% versus 25%).

Another intriguing time when Uranus was in Aries was between 1927-1935. These are the years when Adolf Hitler managed to brainwash his country and set the stage to almost take over Europe.

  • The second area: If you go over mining fires since the 1960s, youโ€™ll find that approximately 71.4% of them occurred during those times when Uranus was positioned at a Fire zodiac. That is a 46.4% increase of chance from a normal distribution (71.4% versus 25%).

Sometimes we donโ€™t see a large increase of chance, but it is still above normal distribution. When I researched the 20 largest wildfires in California since 1932, only 40% of these fires occurred at times when Uranus was positioned in a Fire zodiac. But that is still a 15% increase in a chance from a normal distribution (40% versus 25%).

Uranus in the Air element:

Air has the quality of communication, information, innovation, creativity, new technologies, and intellectual advances. Therefore, I have researched the area of new inventions and entrepreneurship, with the goal of discovering what innovations, if any, happened at those times when Uranus was in an Air zodiac.

  • From 1995 to 2003, Uranus was in Aquarius, and from 1968 โ€“1974, Uranus was in Libra. Both are Air signs.

Down below I have listed some of the biggest innovations that occurred during these time periods:

  1. LinkedIn was founded in 2002.

  2. Skype came out in 2003.

  3. Right at the end of Uranusโ€™ period in Aquarius, in February of 2004, Facebook was founded.

  4. Google was founded in 1998.

  5. Bluetooth was unveiled in 1999.

  6. Portable MP3 players were invented in 2001.

  7. DVD technology was adopted in 1996.

  8. Nokia released its first cell phone, the Nokia 1011, in 1994.

  9. Right before Uranus entered Aquarius, Sonyโ€™s original launch of PlayStation occurred in December of 1994.

  10. In the late 1960s, the first workable prototype for the internet came about.

  11. The first boom of personal computers didnโ€™t occur until the 1970s.

  12. In the late 1960s, the floppy desk was invented.

  13. The first reliable and affordable videocassette recorders (VCRs) were made by Japanese firms in the mid-1970s.

  14. The first digital wristwatch was launched in 1970.

All these companies or innovations have truly shaped the world we know today, havenโ€™t they?

Uranus in Water:

Since 70% of the Earth is water. So what's better to research for a global event than tsunamis?

Since 1900, all five of the largest tsunamis with 8-plus magnitude (2011 in Japan, 1952 in Kamchatka, 2004 in Indonesia, 2010 in Chile, and 2005 in Indonesia) occurred at times when Uranus was positioned in a Water sign!

Could it be only a โ€œcoincidenceโ€? I donโ€™t think so. For every cause, there is an effect, and for every effect, there is a cause; a chance is merely the result of unrecognized Law.

  • Uranus is about to enter Taurus in March of 2019. Taurus is an Earth sign, which represents the material world, financial security, monetary systems, real estate, land, nature, and the Earth itself.

If we connect the dots, could this mean we are about to witness a global change in the financial industry, based on all the above-mentioned observations?

Could cryptocurrencies and Block-Chain technology revolutionize the financial industry and bring about a new global economy, or possibly shake up the old ways of doing business to make our financial lives more efficient, or maybe a shift in economical power?

I'll leave you to decide that for yourself...
