ReStitch: Fixed Fashion – Saving the Planet
ReStitch: Fixed Fashion – Saving the Planet
By keeping clothing out of landfill and giving it new!
I started this project to help cut down on waste and pollution from fast fashion. Instead of tossing out damaged clothes, people can send them to me. I fix holes, sew up tears, and replace broken zippers. I use eco-friendly materials and add cool touches like embroidery and upcycling to make each piece look fresh again. Then I send the clothes back, ready to wear.
My goal is to help people keep their clothes longer, reduce waste, and offer a better option than just throwing stuff away.
Key Parts of the Project
The Problem
Every year, 92 million tons of textiles end up in landfills. Clothing production uses 10% of the world’s water and creates 10% of global CO₂ emissions.
78% of discarded clothing could be repaired, but only 1% actually gets recycled.
Fast fashion is destroying Africa's environment
Mountains of clothes from brands like H&M and Zara are piling up along the shores of Ghana's waterways. These clothes were supposed to be recycled, but instead, they’re being sent to landfills in African countries.
The Solution
Circular Service: Send in damaged clothes → repair/upcycle → get them back.
Eco-Friendly Materials: Organic threads, natural dyes, and recycled patches.
Creativity: Turning flaws into unique designs (like turning a hole into embroidered art).
The Benefits
Less Waste: Every repaired item saves around 5 kg of CO₂ and 3,000 liters of water.
Saves Money: Repairs cost 40% less than buying new clothes.
Supports Local Artisans: I work with small workshops to create jobs.

PS What do you think of this idea? You send me damaged clothes, I fix them, add a Bitcoin patch, and send them back good as new.
My goal is to reduce waste, promote Bitcoin, and fight fast fashion pollution.Check out "Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy (2024)"-Netflix.
