RE: The Creator Of Bitcoin

in #bitcoin8 years ago

Satoshi Nakamoto´s identity does not matter in the scheme of things of Bitcoin itself, but the person himself does matter in Bitcoin. Considering Satoshi is estimated to own between 1 to 1.5 million Bitcoins. This give him enormous power. All he would have to is dump all those Bitcoins onto the market and the price would crash. If he continues to hold onto them and Bitcoin becomes more established and accepted and thus its value escalating, then he will most certainly be the worlds richest man. He matters alright.

The problem though is that he doesn't participate in his currency anymore. Maybe you're right but who knows what would he actually do.

Satoshi knows he has more power by being anonymous. It adds a mystery and a mystical element to the currency and that helps belief or even faith. Satoshi cant be judged if we dont know who he is. We all know the people who created the other other Alt coins ans as such we can check their background and judge their character. However good or bad we think we are we all judge, we cant help it. We even judge someone in seconds from seeing their face. Without knowing what Satoshi looks like it forces us to imagine what he looks like and we will always create one that we favor. This is very powerful and is one of the contributing factors as to why most of those who have been suggested as being the real Satoshi, such as Craig Wright, were quickly rejected. In spite of the fact that Wrights intelligence and character did not fit, I could hear people saying "thats not what he looks like". Even though Gavin Anderson himself is convinced that Craig Wright is Satoshi it seems the roes of the world does not.
Such is the power that we do not want to know.
This is one of the reasons why the Islamic faith has a powerful hold over its followers. It is forbidden for them to create or even think about what Mohamed looked like. In the same way I believe this has also helped Bitcoin have an almost religious hold over its followers.
Either Satoshi is dead, or he is in hiding. If he is dead, then his 1.5 million Bitcoins are lost forever and will make no difference on the price but his name will then only continue to grow with mysticism thus adding more faith to the crypto-currency. If he is still alive and is waiting for the right time to appear then God know what cold happen. But it will be a world stopping moment for sure if he releases all those Bitcoins. Thanks for responding.
