Bitcoin: The world's most valuable digital currency has lost half its value in just seven months.

Bitcoin's value has dropped below $34,000 in the last two days, according to cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

As a result, the first digital currency has lost 50% of its market value since November, when it reached its peak.

The recent drop in the value of digital currencies has coincided with a drop in stock markets around the world.

On Monday, certain Asian markets' indices sank once more. The Nikkei stock index in Japan plummeted by approximately 2.5 percent.
