3D printed, glowing unicorn bike light!
Add a little whimsy and magic to your night bike riding! 3D Printed Unicorn Horn Bike Mount in Glow in the Dark Plaza, Illuminated with a cheap UV LED Flashlight. Files are hosted on pinshape if you want to print your own, https://pinshape.com/items/22713-3d-printed-glowing-unicorn-bike-light
Open Blender and model this shape
Easiest way I know, is draw three intersecting circles and delete the overlapping verts. Watch the video below for a more detailed instruction
Add screw and simple deform (taper) modifiers
Select the shape you made before, add the Screw modifier along the z-axis. Spin it a few times to spiral the shape.
Then add a simple deform modifier and choose "taper"
Clean up the top
Apply the modifiers. Then extrude the top loop and close it off. You can inset the top and extrude that to give a more rounded look.
Clean up the bottom
Extrude the bottom loop, then select "to sphere" to round the shape. This will need to be round to fit into the adapter mount.
Model (or download) the bike adapter
Sorry, I haven't gotten around to doing a step-by-step modeling of this part, but you can find the model here, https://pinshape.com/items/22713-3d-printed-glowing-unicorn-bike-light
Assembly Guide
Follow this guide after you print the four parts needed.
Recommended glue for this project
Use a two-part epoxy for extra strength. You could also use CA glue here, but I'd recommend epoxy
Final steps
Add foam or rubber to the handlebar mount, I used double sided mounting tape, but any rubber or foam will work. This will keep it from slipping around on the handlebar.
Then clip it to your handlebar. If it seems like it might snap, apply a little heat with a heat gun to loosen it up. Then add the #4-40 3/4" screw with nut to clamp it down tight.
BIG WORD OF CAUTION
Caution: This doesn't put out enough light to fully light up your way in complete darkness. Don't substitute this for an actual headlamp.
Show it off and go night riding!

Fascinating. I have several friends who'd love this XD
I'll be following your work from now on. how long have you been making things, if I might ask ?
By the way, I'm a member of @Steemmakers, a community here on Steemit that aims to support makers of all ilks (I personally have a preference for 3D printing myself ;) ).
This post is just the kind we support, so I've taken the liberty of sending the link to our Discord group, so our bot can pass by and upvote you :)
If you make any maker posts in the future, just pass by our Discord, and drop a link in our review channel. You can find lots of fellow makers in there too !
And finally, if you want to help the group grow, we have a curation trail (here's what that is) using SteemAuto, which is simply the ability to set your account to upvote automatically any posts voted on by our @steemmakers account.
It a win-win situation, given you earn curation rewards, and we do our best to find excellent content :)

In any case, welcome to the platform !
Cool, I'll look into It!
I've been interested in tinkering and making stuff most of my life, but got more serious with it in the last three to four years.
that horn is just awesome XO
indeed it is! But I think i will rather put the horn on my car :-D
Genius idea 😆
Make sure you post a picture if you do that! I'd love to see how that comes out.
LOL! Interesting idea you had there. XD
It might not be bright enough to illuminate your way, but I'm sure it makes it easier for you to be seen.
