Hacker Who Stole $46 Million From KyberSwap Reveals Demands

The hacker that stole $46 million from The company has made certain requests, including bitcoin and ether in payment for the stolen assets.

The hacker dubbed Riccardo wrote a posting on an internet forum stating he stole $46 million worth of cryptocurrencies from the site in October 2018.

In his message, Riccardo indicated he wasn't interested in swapping stolen bitcoin for money or other property. Instead, he sought bitcoin and ether (ETH) as recompense for what he alleged was a cyber assault on the network. He also requested for a private key to access a Bitcoin private key held on an exchange wallet.

According to a story in Bloomberg, the individual who stole $46 million from KyberSwap, has published his demands. He stated he would only return the monies if the exchange is shut down and all its users are compensated.

KyberSwap, which has garnered $93 million from investors like Tim Draper and Polychain Capital, suffered an attack two weeks ago, leaving tens of millions of dollars in bitcoin stuck on a compromised exchange wallet.

The hacker asked that all cash be refunded or moved to a new wallet before any further action could be taken.

On Thursday night, an anonymous individual posted on Reddit, which an online petition discerning that KyberSwap go under immediately and give back all stolen funds.
