Never a day without this DIY Rosewater beauty elixir

Most people associate rose with the beautiful blooms that decorate our homes but I prefer to use it on my face! Rose is such a potent and versatile ingredient, which makes it ideal to use for DIY beauty recipes. Not only does it have many uses and benefits, but it also smells divine.
This rose water beauty elixir is extremely easy to make and my beauty cabinet is never without one or two bottles of it.
Rose has incredible healing properties and can also be used in cooking but I prefer it as a skincare product. This elixir can be sprayed over your face whenever you feel the need to revitalise your tired skin and is perfect for keeping spots and breakouts at bay, due to its astringent properties. Rose water is great for the skin and it can help tighten the pores, balance the skin’s pH levels, freshen tired skin and calms the senses.
Granted you can buy rose water from the shops, my favorite ones are the ones of cruelty-free brands such as Levenrose and Poppy Austin, but this DIY rosewater recipe is a bit cheaper and only pure ingredients were added.
When picking your rose petals for this recipe it’s essential that you source the best organic rose petals you can find and afford. Not only will this ensure that your elixir has the most potent effect, but the aroma will also be much stronger and you will get a deeper red hue. I would definitely recommend picking something high in quality as the roses won’t have been treated with any nasty chemicals and will have been harvested at just the right time to make them highly potent.
Alternatively, if you are lucky enough to have your own rose bush, fresh petals would work a treat, just make sure they haven’t been treated with pesticides. You’ll find that most store-bought blooms have been, so be careful.
This DIY rosewater elixir recipe is easy to make and has the most wonderful aroma.
